The meeting took place at night, in a noble's house. You stood in a poorly lit study, while a tall, gaunt woman was seated before you, lounging on a opulent red couch, idly fidgeting with her heavy gold necklace. Her voice was deep and velvety, and as heavy as the fumes emanating from the bronze censer in the corner:

"The Karst Brome society has no need for fools and incompetents. If you feel that you are unable to fulfill this mission, leave now and forget this meeting," Her deep brown eyes scanned your faces, looking for any reaction to this provocation. A faint red glow appeared in them for a few moments, but you wrote it off as candle light reflection, although you saw no lit candles. After being met with stony silence, she smirked and continued:

"There is a book, quite important to us. It is kept away from prying eyes as its contents can be...misused. We learned that a mercenary captain has acquired a copy of some pages from that book.  He used them to build his army. He must be stopped. His last wherabouts were near the mining village of Rust. Go there, probe the locals for information and find the book. Bring it here, or if you are not able, destroy them."

Waiting no further instructions, you clicked your heels, spun around and left the house. The Society richly awards those who serve it well, but the casualty rate is suspiciously high. Perhaps taking this contract was not the best idea...
